AMARYLLIS GARDEN CLUB PLANT AND BAKE SALE will be Saturday, May 16, at the gazebo on Main Street in Oneonta. A selection of plants and good food will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit beautification projects throughout Blount County.

BROOKSVILLE FIRE DEPTARTMENT FISH FRY will be Saturday, May 16, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The $11 plate includes fish, shrimp, or chicken and all the fixings catered by Swamp John’s. All proceeds benefit the Brooksville Fire Dept.

APPALACHIAN RETIREMENT RECEPTION The community will honor retiring school employees Patricia Bellew, Robin Langner Edmondson, Mark Hitt, Janella Hollis, and Jimmy Walker in the school lunchroom on Sunday, May 17, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
