FRIENDS OF THE LOCUST FORK RIVER Planting at the Grand Staircase will be Saturday, Jan. 2, and River Cleanups will be Saturday, Jan. 9. SPAY AND NEUTER ASSISTANCE The Carl Coleman Spay/Neuter Trust Fund, held and invested by the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, is specifically designated for pet owners in Blount County to receive reduced price spay and neuter services. Call Blount County Animal Adoption Center Tuesday through Friday at 205-625-6026 for approval or with questions. Approved participants will pay a $20 copay to Animal Hospital P.C. in Oneonta on the day of surgery.

ONEONTA BUSINESS ASSOCIATION The Flags of Honor project pays tribute to active duty military and veterans of the armed forces with colorful personalized 18”- x-48” banners. A sponsorship of $250 includes: flag of honor banner, Christmas greetings banner, generic “shop local” banner, and a to-be-determined banner. This is not a fundraiser. BLOUNT COUNTY MEMORIAL MUSEUM is searching for information on the Prisoner of War camp that was located in Oneonta during World War II. The camp housed both Italian and German prisoners of war.
