ONEONTA PUBLIC LIBRARY Tomorrow, June 22, at 5:30 p.m., the movie ‘Hidden Figures’ will be shown for adults and refreshments will be provided.

BLOUNT COUNTY CO-OP ANNUAL MEETING will be tomorrow, June 22, at 6 p.m., at Charlie B’s restaurant.

ONEONTA PUBLIC LIBRARY Saturday, June 24, at 11 a.m., a representative from Regions Bank will conduct a seminar, ‘Protecting yourself from identity theft.’

Monday, June 26, at 3 p.m., children’s book author and illustrator Paul Owen Lewis will discuss his latest book, Motomice.

Tuesday, June 27, at 10 a.m., the Blount County Memorial Museum will have a presentation discussing the important landmarks in Blount County, followed by a field trip to the museum.

Tuesday, June 27, at 5:30 p.m., teens will create their own stuffed animals from abandoned toys.

The library is conducting a change drive to collect funds for J.B. Pennington’s library. The program is ‘Pennies for Pennington’ and the library encourages local businesses to participate also. Visit the library to donate or for promotional materials.

PINE MOUNTAIN BBQ AND BLUEGRASS will be Saturday, June 24, at Pine Mountain Community Center. Music begins at noon through 7 p.m., with five groups performing. Barbecue chicken and Boston butt sandwiches and plates will be served beginning at 11 a.m. Adult and child plates are $7.50 and $5, a sandwich and drink is $4. THE WHOLE BACKSTAGE will have two preview workshops for the production of ‘Black Tie America,’ to open Veterans Day weekend in November. The workshops are not auditions but rather a gathering to listen and sing along with some of the music performed in the show. The workshops will be Saturday, June 24, at 10 a.m., and Sunday, June 25, at 2 p.m., in the reception room at 1120 Rayburn Ave. in Guntersville. BLOUNTSVILLE HISTORICAL PARK The ‘Sounds of Liberty’ program will be Tuesday, July 4, beginning at 12:30 p.m. The program will end at 1 p.m. with the ringing of the bell 13 times, along with other Liberty Bells throughout the country. The event is held to remind citizens why we celebrate Independence Day.

SHELBY AND JEFFERSON COUNTY DEMOCRATS invite Blount County residents interested in hearing candidates for the open U.S. Senate seat speak, to join them on Thursday, July 13, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. All eight announced Democrat candidates have been invited.

BLOUNT COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK COMMITTEE will have a yard sale on Friday, July 14, and Saturday, July 15, from 7 a.m. until ?, at the Oneonta Worshp Center’s Family Life Center. The group is asking for donations and items can be taken to the Blount County Memorial Museum, or a committee member can pick up items. All proceeds benefit the Veterans Park project. ONEONTA BUSINESS ASSOCIATION The Classic Cruise-In will be Saturday, July 29, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The OBA, along with Pounder’s Seafood Restaurant and SwampTails Restaurant, presents the band 5ive O’clock Charlie with a live performance. There will be inflatables, food, music, and classic vehicles. Bring a lawn chair and the family to enjoy this free downtown event.
