BLOUNT COUNTY MEMORIAL MUSEUM Residents are asked to submit recipes for possible inclusion in a cookbook to be published by the Blount County Historical Society. Recipes should be submitted no later than Jan. 7, 2014. Mail to the museum at P.O. Box 45, Oneonta, AL 35121. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Phone 625-6905. MIDDLE ALABAMA AREA AGENCY ON AGING (M4A) is asking the community to help seniors by donating new, washable blankets and portable heaters with the automatic shut-off function, during the 2nd Annual “Warming Hearts” program. BLOUNT COUNTY LITERACY COUNCIL will host Basic Literacy Tutor Training on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Blount County Resource Center in Cleveland. Blount County residents with a love of reading and a desire to teach others may take the class at no cost.
