New police chief sworn in







Oneonta Mayor Ross Norris swears in new police chief Charles Clifton as the chief’s wife Sharra holds the Bible. A native of Gadsden, Clifton comes to Oneonta from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, where he has worked since 2005. A graduate of Etowah High School, he has degrees in criminal justice from Gadsden State Community College and Jacksonville State University. He is scheduled to start work in his new position Monday, April 10.
