The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is encouraging others to show support to law enforcement this Saturday on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
“You hear it said all the time – ours is a thankless job, but it doesn’t have to be,” said Chuck Canterbury, national president of the FOP. “Everyone knows of an encounter, a brief moment, or a simple thank you that brightened up their day. This is also true of police, so this Saturday, let’s make an effort to make sure these brave men and women know they are appreciated for all they do for us.”
Canterbury says appreciation can be shown by wearing blue clothing, sending a card of support to your local police, organizing an event or rally to support authorities, or changing your profile picture on social media in support.
