Mitten trees

set up and ready for presents

Blount County’s two garden clubs – the Rose Garden Club and the Amaryllis Garden Club – have set up Christmas mitten trees to help children receive gifts during the holiday season. Rose Garden Club’s tree is located in the Blount County Memorial Museum. Items such as toys and clothing should be turned in by Dec. 18 and will then be delivered to the Department of Human Resources and the children of Blount County. The Amaryllis Garden Club’s mitten tree is in the Oneonta Public Library and items including clothes, toys, and books are due Dec. 19 and will benefit the Hope House and the Blount County Children’s Center. – Nicole Singleton
