Missoula Children’s Theatre is coming

It’s that time of year again! Pretty soon that little red truck will be rolling into town, bringing with it the experience of a lifetime.

Presented by the Community Arts Council of Blount County, Missoula Children’s Theatre will present a theatrical workshop June 27 – July 2, culminating that Saturday night in a performance of The Little Mermaid.

Registration will be June 27 from 11:30 a.m. until 12 noon at Oneonta High School. Auditions for students entering first grade through 12th grade will begin at 12 noon. The workshop will be held from 12 noon until 4:30 p.m. each day.

Note, due to renovations at OHS, Locust Fork High School is an alternate site. The location will be publicized the week before the workshop starts.

The cost for each student is $50, a great investment considering all the fun, skills, and lifelong friends each will share during the course of the production.

Students need to bring a nonmessy snack each day, including Monday. For students entering first grade through age 7, 18 parts are available; ages 8-12, 24 parts; ages 13- 18, 18 parts. An additional four assistant director parts for ages 12-18 are also available. If there are more participants than there are parts per age group, an alternate workshop will be available for students over the limit of the parts.

To preregister, please mail a note to: MCT, 907-A Springville Blvd., Oneonta, AL 35121. Include the student’s name, age, and grade with a check for $50 made out to “Arts Council.”
