Missing Locust Fork woman found dead

On Friday, Nov. 13, Pamela Nugent Hogland left Dollar General in Locust Fork at approximately 10:15 p.m. That is believed to be the last time she was seen alive. According to Blount County Sheriff Mark Moon, a missing person’s report was filed with the Blount County Sheriff’s Office at 11:25 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Earlier Saturday morning, family and friends organized a search party in an attempt to find Hogland. Moon confirmed that Hogland was located deceased at approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15. Initial information indicates she died as a result of an automobile accident.

According to ALEA, the single-vehicle accident occurred on Friday, Nov. 13. Based on the location, ALEA believes the accident happened around 10:30 p.m. The trooper’s report stated that Hogland, 60, was killed when the 2008 Mazda 3 she was driving left the road and overturned in a creek. Hogland, who is from Locust Fork, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred one mile south of Locust Fork on Ala 79 near Patton Lane. Troopers are continuing to investigate and no further information is available.
