Miss Covered Bridge

A new Miss Covered Bridge has been crowned, along with a new Miss Covered Bridge’s Outstanding Teen and Miss Blount County’s Outstanding Teen. The Miss Covered Bridge Preliminary Competition was recently held at J.B. Pennington High School.

Miss Covered Bridge and winner of a $500 scholarship is Hannah Adams. Adams is from Birmingham and is a student at The University of Alabama. Her social impact initiative is “Hannah’s Hope: Finding a Cure for Pediatric Cancer.” Hannah is a pediatric cancer survivor and has raised more than $30 million in grants and funds for pediatric cancer research.

Miss Covered Bridge’s Outstanding Teen and winner of a $100 scholarship is Katherine Grigsby. Grigsby lives in Trussville where she is a student at Trussville High School.Her social impact initiative is “Sleep in Heavenly Peace,” an organization dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering topnotch bunk beds to children and families in need.

Miss Blount County’s Outstanding Teen and winner of a $100 scholarship is Mattie Wisener of Arab. She is a student at Arab High School and her social impact initiative “Think F.A.S.T.” promotes stroke awareness.

Adams will represent Blount County at Miss Alabama next June. Grigsby and Wisener will both represent Blount County at Miss Alabama’s Outstanding Teen competition next March.
