Miss Alabama, Chandler Champion, headlines Miss Covered Bridge Pageant







Miss Alabama and recent Miss America contestant Chandler Champion headlines this year’s Covered Bridge Pageant on Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at Eris Horton Auditorium at Oneonta High School. She will serve as master of ceremonies and will perform her Miss Alabama-winning dance routine. The eighth annual scholarship pageant and awardwinning Miss Alabama preliminary features a large field of 18 contestants from far and wide around Alabama – from Andalusia to Muscle Shoals, from Dora to Huntsville, including six from Oneonta, Blountsville, Hayden, Cullman, and Arab. The pageant will provide a full evening’s entertainment with talent performances covering fitness routines, piano solos, ballet, jazz dance, sign language interpretation, and a range of vocals. The Miss Covered Bridge winner will move on to the Miss Alabama Pageant in June of 2014. Four of the seven Miss Covered Bridge winners have made it to the top 10 in the Miss Alabama competition. Admission is $10 to the Sunday event. – Ron Gholson
