Mini storage vandalized again, suspect’s vehicle impounded

Seventy-one units at Whited Mini Storage in Oneonta were vandalized and/or broken into early Tuesday morning, according to Oneonta Police Chief James Chapman. While the suspect(s) were in the act, units arrived on the scene. A vehicle believed used in the incident was found on Sellers Avenue, and it has been impounded.

Before the units arrival, items had been pulled out of the storage units, however, nothing has been reported missing.

Dogs tracked the suspect(s) for half a mile before they lost the scent, and Chapman believes they may have been picked up.

This could be the same people who vandalized 21 units last month, according to Chapman.

“We are currently investigating the case and leads are being pursued,” he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the department at 625-4351 or Blount County Crime Stoppers at 274-2746.
