JOSHUA A. TOLBERT, a lance corporal with the U.S. Marine Corps, and JUSTIN D. RUSSELL, a private first class, alongside fellow Marines attached to 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, Battery K, stationed in U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Training, Huntsville, recently deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Feedom (OEF). Marines assigned to a firing battery are responsible for moving, loading, firing, protecting, and maintaining the cannon weapon systems. Battery K will provide rocket and missile fire support for Marine Air-Ground Task Force and Joint Task Force operations, in support of OEF. Tolbert is the son of Cheryl L. and Christopher W. Newton of Oneonta. He is a 2008 graduate of Appalachian High School and joined the Marine Corps Reserve in October 2008. Russell is a 2008 graduate of Hayden High School and joined the Marine Corps Reserve in January 2010.
