The fifth annual charity run sponsored by Hometown Bank is coming next month – Saturday, Aug. 8 to be exact.
However, this year’s run will be different from the previous four, although the run will benefit two very deserving groups – OFFER (Oneonta Foundation For Education Resources) and the Blount County Education Foundation.
Aptly titled A Midsummer Night’s Run, this year’s event will be held in the eveningwitha6p.m.startatanew location – the Blount County-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce office at Oneonta Rec Park.
There will be the main 5K run – on a USATF-certified course – followed by a 1-mile Kids Fun Run at 7 p.m.
Also this year, after the run there will be plenty of extras with the band Total Assets performing and a Kids Zone with inflatables and there will be plenty of food and drinks.
Registration for the run is $35 now but will be $40 for those that wait till race day. The past four runs have averaged around 100 runners per event but organizers
Register at any Hometown Bank location – Oneonta, Pinson or Snead – or at www.runsignup.com.
