McCutcheon was elected Speaker of the House in August, replacing Mike Hubbard who was convicted in June on 12 charges of ethics violations.
McCutcheon resides in Monrovia, serving as state representative for District 25 since 2006. He has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Trinity University and a wide variety of professional experience: minister, farmer, police officer, investigator, and hostage negotiator for the Huntsville Police Department, and zoning coordinator for the City of Huntsville.
Well known quote, upon his election as Speaker: “To put it bluntly, the days of the imperial speakership are over.”
