MARILYN MAE LANDRUM COLE, 74, Oneonta, was born on Nov. 25, 1945, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 1, 2020. Marilyn was a hairstylist at Perfect Look in Gardendale for many years. She was preceded in death by her father Eddie Landrum, stepfather Connie Franklin, mother Irene Franklin, and brothers Edward Landrum, Wayne Landrum, and Harold Landrum.
She was surrounded by her family that loved her dearly. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Walter Cole; her children James Shrader Jr., Debbie (Rick) Busby, George Cole, and Cynthia Holloway (Kenny Ray Humphrey); and brother Thomas Landrum. She was a loving mother of four, grandmother to seven, and great-grandmother to 11, with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was held Monday, May 4, at 3 p.m., with burial at Jefferson Memorial “Field of Honor.” The service was officiated by Pastor Kent McClendon. A special thank you to St. Vincent’s Hospice and Home Health for the amazing care and compassion provided to her and her family, with a very special recognition to Mrs. Jamie Lowe, RN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
