A man has been arrested in connection to the robbery of the People’s Bank branch in Locust Fork last Friday.
Aaron Levi Kelly, 31, was arrested early Tuesday morning by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies. He was charged with possession of controlled substance, receiving stolen property and attempting to elude and is being held in the Jefferson County Jail with bonds of $13,500.
A man entered the bank Friday afternoon and handed the teller a note demanding money. He left the bank with the cash but was later identified through surveillance video.
Blount County Sheriff’s Department Operations Officer Tim Kent said that Kelly will be extradited to Blount County and held without bond. In addition, he could be facing federal charges.
