DeWon Farmer, left, director of the Blount County Learning Center, and Tim Sosebee, president of the Hayden Lions Club, pose in front of an enhanced vision machine donated to the Center by the Lions. The machine, valued at $2,500, magnifies small text up to 200 times. It is designed to assist individuals with visual disabilities, and has already been assigned to such a student at Susan Moore Elementary, Farmer said. The 20- inch color screen can be used in manual mode to enlarge texts placed on a display surface below the screen or modified to project computer text or images on a wall or large screen. The machine was originally donated to the Hayden Lions by WWII veteran Major Red Sosebee and his son, Larry.
