Lighthouse holds off Hope



The Lighthouse Homeschool Warriors held off Hope Christian of Pelham for a 48-38 win on homecoming last Friday.

After a scoreless first quarter, Lighthouse took a 20-12 lead at the half. Each team scored a touchdown in the third quarter and the Warriors outscored the visitors 22- 20 in the final quarter to get the win.

Micah Beard completed 7 of 8 passing for 139 yards and a touchdown.

Joshua Hixon rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries while Colby Ferrill had 113 yards and a touchdown on eight attempts and threw a touchdown pass.

Benjamin Hixon caught four passes for 77 yards and two scores and Clay Ferrill had a pair of catches for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Tommy Allcorn (15 tackles, sack, fumble recovery), John Wicks (14), Benjamin Hixon (13, including two sacks), and Joshua Hixon (13 tackles, sack) led the Warrior defense. Fisher Doyal had an interception and a fumble recovery and Clay Ferrill had an interception.

Lighthouse (2-5) travels to Montgomery this Friday to play Ezekiel Academy (4-2).
