Fox 6 meteorologist Wes Wyatt talks to Blount County Emergency Management director Max Armstrong during Saturday’s Safety Fair. The event is sponsored by the Oneonta Public Library and director Gail Sheldon said that attendance this year was more than double that of last year’s inaugural event. Great weather – sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s – certainly made things comfortable for fair-goers. There were plenty of emergency vehicles that could be toured outside and several displays set up in the library, including a piece of metal from the World Trade Center towers that is part of a 9/11 tour. Several agencies – especially police and fire personnel – contributed to the event. – Rob Rice
