Members of the West Blount- Hayden Improvement Association and others of the community hosted Matthew Lemak, CEO of Lemak Sports Medicine, Thursday to discuss a potential satellite location in West Blount that could provide advanced orthopedic services to community residents.
Ongoing communication between WBHIA and Lemak Sports Medicine & Orthopedics could result in a potential business relationship within the next year.
The mission of the recently established West Blount-Hayden Improvement Association is to stimulate economic growth of the area, making use of surveyed information from local pastors, town councilors, and additional community leaders.
Committee members include Bruce Bailey, Jim McCullar, Welton Carter, Jimmy Doyle, Marlene Green, Terry and Opel Lewis, Bill and Lela Logan, Bobby Lowe, Greg Reid, Jimmy and Joan Trotter, and Danny Riggs. About Lemak
Founded by noted orthopedic surgeon Dr. Larry Lemak, the company began in November 2009 with his practice at Trinity Medical Center. It later added a facility at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. Locations now include Birmingham, Clanton, Childersburg, Alabaster, Gardendale, Trussville, and a new facility located in Mt. Olive.
Lemak Sports Medicine works with 30 high schools, four colleges, and all of Alabama’s two-year colleges.
