Legends Sofa Bar ready for prime time

It was a cold and rainy day last Tuesday, but it was warm and cozy inside Legends Sofa Bar as patrons of the Oneonta scene gathered for the ribbon cutting at the new, classy, music lounge and cafe. Owned by Janine Bond and assisted by Peter Zahel (both holding the scissors), Legends (think music legends) is located at 106 6th St. South. That’s in the shopping strip facing U.S. 231, behind and across First Avenue from CVS Pharmacy.

On order are specialty wraps and soups, beer, wine, and coffee drinks. A major specialty of the house, Peter says, is the social experience – an atmosphere for winding down, talking, dancing, and enjoying the music in a roomy, comfortable setting. (That’s where the sofas come in.)

Live music on weekends, low-key, acoustic guitars and duos, perfect for easy listening, conversation, or both. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight, closed Sunday and Monday. Check Facebook for further details.
