Locust Fork 45, Fultondale 37

The visiting Lady Hornets jumped to an early 21-15 lead over the Fultondale Wildcats at the end of the first half. The second half showed much of the same. The Lady Hornets maintained their lead throughout periods three and four, grabbing a 45- 37 win over Fultondale.

The Lady Hornets saw a great performance from Shelly Bailey who put up 22 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Faith Evans added 12 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.

Tuesday. Dec. 17
at Locust Fork
Locust Fork 37, Cleveland 31

The Lady Hornets edged it out against the Lady Panthers after taking an early 25-17 lead after one half. The second half told a different story as the Panthers outscored the Hornets 14-12. However, it wasn’t enough to knock the Lady Hornets out of the lead as they went on to win 37-31.

The Lady Hornets saw 12 points, six rebounds, an assist, and two steals from Faith Evans. Madison Roy put up 12 points as well, along with four rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Bailey added eight points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Thursday, Dec. 19
Oakland 47, Locust Fork 23

The Lady Hornets tasted defeat as they faced the Oakland Patriots. The Lady Hornets quickly fell behind, trailing 22-15 at the half. The second half was no kinder as they failed to score any points in the third period and only eight in the fourth, bringing the game to a decisive 47-23 victory for the Patriots.

Roy put up 12 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Bailey added seven points, two rebounds, and an assist.

Friday, Dec. 20
Locust Fork 31, Pinson Valley 34

The Lady Hornets fell victim to the Pinson Valley Indians despite providing a close contest. The teams were tied 18-18 at the half. The Lady Hornets outscored the Indians 10-4 in the third. However, the fourth period saw the Indians outscore the Hornets 12-3 to bring the final score to 34-31 and an Indian victory.

Roy put up 14 points, three rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Bailey added nine points, 12 rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Faith Evans had eight points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Saturday, Dec. 21
Locust Fork 39, Cold Springs 45

The Lady Hornets came up short against the Cold Springs Eagles, trailing 25-16 at the end of the first half. The second half saw the Lady Hornets outscoring the Lady Eagles in both the third and fourth periods, but it wasn’t quite enough as they ended up losing 39-45.

Bailey had 11 points, three rebounds, six assists, and a steal. Holt Evans had 12 points, a rebound, and an assist. Faith Evans put up nine points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
