Lady Hornets go 3-2 on the road

at Midfield
Locust Fork 51, Midfield 59

The Lady Hornets fell to the Midfield Patriots 51-59. Shelly Bailey put up 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Madison Roy put up 16 points, two rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Faith Evans added 8 points, seven rebounds, an assist, and four steals.

Monday, Jan. 13
at Southeastern
Locust Fork 61, Southeastern 25

The Lady Hornets dominated early against the Lady Mustangs, taking a 19-5 lead at the end of the first. Locust Fork extended their lead in the second, leading 33-14 at the half. The domination continued into the second half as the Lady Hornets outscored the Lady Mustangs 28-9, bringing the final score to 61-25.

Evans led the Hornets with 19 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Bailey put up 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Roy added 10 points, six rebounds, an assist, and two steals.

Tuesday, Jan. 14
at Holy Family Catholic
Locust Fork 58, Holy Family 21

The Lady Hornets soared in the first period, taking an early 21-2 lead over the Holy Family Catholic Lady Tornadoes. The rest of the game showed much of the same as the Lady Hornets went on to defeat the Tornadoes 58-21.

Roy led the swarm with 14 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Evans added 13 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Bailey put up 8 points, three rebounds, five assists, and a steal.

Friday, Jan. 17
at Fultondale
Locust Fork 61, Fultondale 26

The Lady Hornets made quick work of the Fultondale Wildcats, outscoring them 35-10 in the first half. The domination continued into the second half as the Lady Hornets finished the game with a 61-26 victory.

Roy dominated the court with 23 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Evans put up 18 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double. Bailey added 9 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.

Tuesday, Jan. 21
Blount County Tournament
Locust Fork 45, Cleveland 47

The Lady Hornets couldn’t quite hang on against the Lady Panthers. The Lady Hornets started off down 25-19 at the half, but took a 40-29 lead at the end of the third. Despite grabbing the lead, the Lady Hornets couldn’t quite stop the Lady Panthers in the fourth, ultimately falling behind 47-45 at the final buzzer.

Roy put up 20 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Evans added 12 points, seven rebounds, an assist, and two steals. Reagan Fuller got 6 points, two rebounds, and an assist.
