Lady Bulldogs finish first in tournaments


 

 

Susan Moore junior varsity and varsity girls participated in Christmas tournaments and both took home trophies.

The junior varsity girls (below left) won the Mortimer Jordan Christmas Tournament. They first crushed Briarwood Christian in a 51-10 victory. Cali Smallwood led the Bulldogs with 19 points. Lacey Floyd had nine points and Marisa Bryan had eight points.

Susan Moore continued to dominate in the tournament and won their second game against Hayden 45- 19. Lacey Floyd and Marisa Bryan were the top scorers, with 13 and 12 points respectively.

The Lady Bulldogs conquered Mortimer Jordan 48-17 in the championship game. Susan Moore hit 10 three-pointers. Cali Smallwood scored 13 points. Kaitlyn Hill had 11 points. Marisa Bryan and Audrey Lauderdale had six points.

The varsity girls (below) first faced Central in the Lauderdale County Christmas Tournament and won 61-52. Morgan Holland led the Bulldogs with a double double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Hallie Holmes had 12 points and five rebounds.

 

 

Their second game was a tough matchup against Phil Campbell. Once again Susan Moore came out with the 73-64 victory. Morgan Holland continued her streak and had a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Mekenzie Standridge scored 18 points and had seven rebounds. Abby Floyd had 14 points and six rebounds. Hallie Holmes had 10 points and six rebounds.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Lauderdale County 53- 52 in a close call. Morgan Holland had her third game in a row with a double-double scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Hallie Holmes had 12 points and Aerial Cason had 10 points and five rebounds.
