King’s Bend Overlook Park – with its scenic vista, grand staircase leading to the beautiful Locust Fork, and abundance of blooming native plants – now has lights. These solar lights were made right here in Blount County by Sun Charge Systems.
The park features river access for those wanting to kayak or canoe, as well as the bridge complete with benches for those just wanting to relax and enjoy the views.
Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. the Friends of the Locust Fork River will host its fourth planting at the grand staircase. Zac Napier, naturalist, continues to create a native garden. Volunteers are welcome; please register at flfr.org.
