King pens children’s book

Vickie King, of Hayden, visited Hayden Elementary last week for a book signing for her first-ever book,‘The Gingerbread Boy Who Didn’t Run Away.’ The story follows a mother who makes gingerbread treats for her daughter’s kindergarten class, and during their snack shares her most treasured memory.‘Three weeks before Christmas the mother’s mother makes her a gingerbread boy as a treat, but she decides to keep it as a friend rather than eat it,’ King explains. What makes the story even more special is what happens two days before Christmas when the gingerbread boy finally crumbles apart. To order the book, visit rosedogbooks.com or call King at 647-3639.
