JERRY ROGERS FAULKNER, 69, passed away Nov. 14, 2020, at St. Vincent’s East Hospital. Jerry was full of life and loved teaching, coaching, traveling, fishing, raising cattle, and trains. He was a lifelong member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for 48 years. He proudly served his country and was a veteran of the Alabama National Guard; he served as former mayor of Rosa and he was a member of Dry Creek Masonic Lodge in Cleveland. Also known as Coach Faulkner, he taught at Locust Fork for 38 years and coached various sports for 25 years, mainly girls basketball. He loved his family, friends, his church family, and the Locust Fork community. His favorite past-time was drinking coffee and talking with his boys. Preceding him in death were his parents Earl S. and Mary Black Faulkner; brothers Earl Dean Faulkner, Dr. Jasper (Eleanor) Faulkner, and Jack Faulkner; father- and mother-inlaw Bill and Geneva McCroskey; and sister-in-law Joyce Waid.
Left to cherish his memory will be his wife Robin McCroskey Faulkner; sons Jeremy (Perri) Faulkner, Skyler Faulkner, and Trent Faulkner; sisters Peggy (Ronnie) Murphy and Judy Faulkner; brothers Paul Faulkner and Joe M. (Jeanie) Faulkner; sister-in-law Linda Faulkner; and brother-in-law Keith (Denise) McCroskey; a host of nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund. Lemley Funeral Home directed.
