JAMES F. ‘BUDDY’ MCCAY, 77, Locust Fork, died Oct. 31, 2018. He was self-employed but had worked previously for Pepsi Cola. He was a member of Locust Fork Church of God, a hunter and fisherman who loved to farm, pick up lost treasures discarded by others, look for star root, and go to auctions and yard sales. Predeceasing him were parents Samuel C. and Eva Huckaby McCay; stepchildren Darlene Maddox Carrick, Tony McSherry, Michael McSherry; sister Mary Lou Heaton.
Surviving are wife of 52 years Madglyn McCay; children Betty Jean (Mickie) Shelton, Pearley (Marvin) Collier, James McCay Jr.; grandchildren Jeffrey “JJ” Smithey Jr. (Kristina Schaefer), Alicia Mitchell; five step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; brother Clyde Fred McCay; sisters Virginia Frances Thomas, Emma South.
Paul Rivers and Leon Beasley officiated the 2 p.m. service held Nov. 3 at the Chapel of Lemley Funeral Home. Burial was at Pine Bluff Cemetery.
