BLOUNT COUNTY EDUCATION RETIREES ASSOCIATION will meet Friday, Dec. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Charlie B’s Restaurant. Story telling will be the subject of the Christmas program.

BLOUNTSVILLE CHRISTMAS PARADE will be Friday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. Businesses, churches, clubs, and teams are invited to participate. Phone Venus Malito at 429-4095 or 470-4790 to enter or for more information. Winning entries will be announced after the parade.

ALTOONA CHRISTMAS PARADE will be Friday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. The parade will feature floats, classic cars, bands, and special guests include Big Al, corporate mascots, and Santa. Phone 589-2311 to enter or for more information.

TOWN OF CLEVELAND will sponsor the annual Christmas in the Park on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. There will be a tree lighting, refreshments, entertainment, and Santa will be availabe for photos. Donations of canned goods and toys will be accepted. If the weather is bad, the celebration will be held at the Cleveland Fire Department.

BLOUNTSVILLE HISTORICAL PARK will have Open House on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is free, and residents are invited to visit the cabins decorated for Christmas and enjoy cookies and punch.

LIGHTS AND SANTA AT PALISADES PARK The 14th annual Chistmas Lights in the Park will be open from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. every night in December except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos Dec. 5-7, 12-14, and 19-20.

BLOUNT COUNTY MEMORIAL MUSEUM Christmas ornaments featuring the Horton Mill Bridge are $15 and available for purchase at the museum. Museum hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., phone 625- 6905.
