Susan Moore councilman Bobby Waddle, chairman of the park and rec board, wonders why damaging playground equipment would give anyone pleasure.
Much pride and work are going into creating an attractive, well equipped playground for children of the area. The town acquired a number of pieces being replaced at Palisades Park. Volunteers are repairing, painting, and otherwise refurbishing them in anticipation of opening the area for kids’ fun. There’ll be three large slides, a jungle gym, a seesaw, and three swings to entertain and challenge youngsters, some of the pieces already completed.
Why then did some vandal or vandals scrape the newly applied paint from several pieces, which are having to be redone? He suggests such persons have more respect for themselves and for public property than to be so destructive.
