JV Girls
Hayden 46, Susan Moore 61

Hayden held a 5-point 16-11 lead after the first period. Susan Moore had a big second quarter outscoring the Wildcats 18-7 and taking a 29-23 advantage into halftime. Hayden cut the lead to 41-38 after three quarters. The Bulldogs pulled away in the fourth and won by 15. Susan Moore’s Lacey Floyd had 19 to lead all scorers. Marisa Bryan had 14 while Angela Sherrer had 13 for the Bulldogs. Hayden’s Becca Benton had 16. Marissa Painter and Ramie Reid both had 11 for the Wildcats.

JV Boys
Hayden 58, Susan Moore 38

It was all Hayden from beginning to end. The Wildcats built a 26-12 halftime lead and coasted to a 58- 38 win. Eleven Wildcat players put points on the scoreboard. Leading scorer was Caiden Calvert with 12. Brodie Garner had 8; Kyler Leamon had 7; and Dawson Creel and Austin Morgan both had 5. Susan Moore was led by Angel Pacheo with 9. Angel Cartagena had 8; Ramon Maldonado and Derek Doty contributed 6.

Varsity Girls
Hayden 63, Susan Moore 76

Susan Moore came in with a 5-1 record while Hayden sported a perfect 6-0. The Bulldogs had a 36-29 advantage at halftime. Hayden tied the score early in the fourth peroid at 50, but Susan Moore pulled away to a 76-63 victory. The Bulldogs’ Morgan Holland led all scorers with 26, 15 of those in the second half and 11 in the final period. Madison Lipscomb had 15 and Hallie Holmes had 12. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Gracie Benton with 19. Audrey Veazey had 15, Lindsey Smith scored 11, and Lani Adams and Brenna Hays had 8 each.

Varsity Boys
Hayden 66, Susan Moore 30

Hayden defeated Susan Moore 66- 30. Hayden had three players in double figures: Nathan Morgan had 13, Austin Blakeley had 12, and Korbin Register had 10. Tanner Sisson had 10 for Susan Moore, while Isaiah Kemp and Gavin Harper both had 6.

Junior High Girls
Hayden 15, Susan Moore 50

Kirsten Ingram had 17, Cesa Hernandez had 13, and Kayla Forsyth had 6 for the Bulldogs. Hayden was led by Carrie McCullar with 6. Crislyn Chappell scored 5 and Lanei McDanal had 4.

Junior High Boys
Hayden 28, Susan Moore 26

In the most exciting game of the week, the Hayden junior high boys came from behind and won on a buzzer beater by Keegan Motte for a 28-26 victory over the Bulldogs. The game was tied at 3 after the first quarter. Susan Moore had a 10-7 advantage at halftime. Again the game was tied at 14 after three. The Wildcats tied the game late then hit the last shot as time expired for the win. Susan Moore’s Travis Cook had 11 to lead all scorers. Hayden’s Carson Purkey had 8 for the Wildcats. Motte had 7, Carson White had 5, and Dillon Layton and Luke Renfroe had 4 each.

Friday, Dec. 6
at Hayden

The Wildcats came away with a four game sweep over Class 5A Area 12 rival Corner.

JV Girls
Hayden 40, Corner 7

Becca Benton had 12. Ramie Reid tallied 10 and Marissa Painter had 6.

JV Boys
Hayden 37, Corner 27

Caiden Calvert had 10 and Dawson Creel and Carson Snow each had 6

Varsity Girls
Hayden 51, Corner 24

In the first Class 5A Area 12 match up on the year the Hayden VG defeated the Yellow Jackets 51-24. The Wildcats had a 21-4 lead at halftime and cruised to a 27 point win. Gracie Benton topped all scorers with 17. Audrey Veazey had 11 and Lani Adams had 10.

Varsity Boys
Hayden 68, Corner 45

The Hayden varsity boys won their area opener with a 68-45 victory over Corner. Collin Chappell had 18, Carson Rickels had 15, and Nathan Morgan scored 13.
