At 8 a.m. Monday, March 15, the Blount County Courthouse Annex in Hayden was open for business once again. The annex closed last March when the statewide shutdown began. While other government buildings reopened, the commission took advantage of the shutdown to begin renovations of the facility. It’s taken almost one full year, but the facility is open and they’ve expanded its hours of operation. It opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will close from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.

Also, the Blount County Sheriff’s Office will have a representative at the Courthouse Annex for the purchase of pistol permits as well as allow for the pick up of reports at the same counter as the revenue department and probate office.
