HAROLD MCFALL HAMMOND,

Fairfax, Va., died Jan. 11, 2015, at the residence. Dr. Hammond served as priest and pastor for many years and served in many evangelical capacities during his lifetime. He received a bachelor’s degree from the Citadel in 1957, a master’s of divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary, and a doctorate of ministry degree from Wesley Theological Seminary. He founded Shepherd’s Heart Anglican Church and Franciscan Fire in Fairfax, Va., and helped found St. Peter and St. Paul Antiochian Orthodox Churches in Bethesda, Md. Father-inlaw Dr. Eldridge Tracey Brown predeceased him.

Surviving is wife Ann Hammond, who was active in Dr. Hammond’s ministry.

Memorial services were held at Truro Anglican Church in Fairfax, Va., on Jan. 16. Graveside services were held Jan. 21 at noon at Cleveland Cemetery. Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home directed locally.
