GLADYS MARIE WALDEN was born May 28, 1931, and went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at the age of 88. She was born and raised in Prospect, Tenn. She married Thomas Edward Walden and lived in the Locust Fork community on “Walden’s Mountain” for 57 years until her passing. Preceding her in death were her parents Alexander and Ruby Ward Griffin and brother James A. Griffin. She loved and cherished her family and enjoyed visiting and spending time with each of them. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; they were the joy of her life.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years Thomas E. Walden; children Alice (Rodney) Higginbotham, Mary (Eddie) Cummings, Mike (Lynn) Walden, and Gail (Robin) Burgett; grandchildren Amy (Cary) Miller, Kelly (Patrick) Foster, Tommy (Lindy) Cummings, Alex (Brittney) Burgett, Lane Walden, Garrett (Katherine) Walden, Austin Burgett, Haleigh Walden; great-grandchildren Sarabeth Miller, Gary (Brittani) Foster, Karlee Foster, John David Miller, Bryleigh Cummings, Ethan Cummings, Ryan Foster, Sawyer Cummings, Henry Walden, Bowen Burgett, Eleanor Walden, and Phoebe Walden; brother Albert (Irene) Griffin; sister-in-law Winifred Griffin; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.

Visitation was held Thursday, Dec. 19, from noon until 2 p.m., at Masseyline Church of God, Pinson. Funeral service followed at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial was at Masseyline Church of God Cemetery. Bro. Benny Johnson, Bro. Roger Jacobs, and Bro. Garrett Walden officiated the service. Pallbearers were Alex Burgett, Austin Burgett, Lane Walden, Tommy Cummings, Garrett Walden, Dalton Rice, and Thor Carpenter. Lemley Funeral Home and Crematory directed.
