Girls shine heading into area tournament

The Lady Eagles, Lady Hornets, Lady Bulldogs, Lady Redskins, and Lady Wildcats all go into next weeks area tournament as regular season area champs and home court advantage for the first two games of the postseason. Appalachian hosts No. 4-seed Victory Christian at 6 p.m. Mon. Feb. 8, in the opening round of the 1A Area 11 tournament. A win sends them to the championship game on Thursday, Feb. 11, where they will face the either Jefferson Christian or Sumiton Christian.

Locust Fork holds the top spot in 2A Area 11. Southeastern finished second, and Cleveland fourth. The Lady Hornets will host the Lady Panthers at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, while the Lady Mustangs hosts the Lady Patriots at 6 p.m. next Tuesday. The championship game will be 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11.

The Lady Bulldogs capped off a successful regular season as winner of the Blount County Basketball Tournament. They host the No. 4-seeded J.B. Pennington Tigers in the 3A Area 13 tournament at 6  p.m. Monday, Feb. 8. Championship game will follow on Thursday where the winner of that game will face either Holly Pond or

Oneonta finished strong in 4A Area 11 and host Hanceville at 6 p.m. Feb. 8. If they win, they will host either Good Hope or Curry in the chambThey will face either Good Hope or Curry in the championship game at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11.

The Lady Wildcats took care of business in 5A Area 12 and get to host Cordova at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9. A win sends them to the championship game on Friday where they would host either Center Point or Corner.
