Commission to study indigent patient care
“Our entire budget might not be enough to pay for one extended care case,” Probate Judge/Commission Chairman Frank Green said in discussing indigent patient care.
Green’s remark came when he recommended Dec. 10 that commissioners give careful study to the effect of Alabama Health Care Responsibility Act No. 79- 808. He said the act makes local governments responsible for part of the costs of cerified indigent patient care in local hospitals or out-of-county hospitals.
