Car and truck collide

A car driven by Jack McPherson collided with the Farm Bureau truck driven by Ernest Franks on the Birmingham Highway in Oneonta last Wednesday afternoon. McPherson, his wife and son, Billy, and Miss Reba Copeland were in the car and Franks was unaccompanied in the truck.

Miss Copeland was badly bruised about the head and face. McPherson sustained two broken ribs and bruises about the neck and shoulders. Mrs. McPherson was bruised slightly.

Farmer Jones wrestles here Saturday night

Farmer Jones, the powerful Arkansas hillbilly, with his pet pig, Jiggs, appears on the Legion boxing and wrestling card here this Saturday night. The farmer is being brought here to try to tame the terrible German, Otto Ludwig, who almost caused a riot last Saturday night in his match with Rex Mobley, being disqualified for dirty tactics.

Jones says he will not accept any pay if he doesn’t beat the German so it looks like he means serious business! Two good boxing bouts are also on the card to complete a program that the fans will enjoy.
