Frank Wayne French
FRANK WAYNE FRENCH,
73, Guntersville, passed away March 20, 2018. He was a graduate of Oneonta High School, Auburn University, and worked at Bellsouth for 35 years. He enjoyed reading, playing guitar, listening to and singing gospel and country songs, and fishing for bream and bass off the boathouse deck with his grandsons. He was a consummate story teller and could always be counted on for interesting, hilarious, often unbelievable, yet true stories. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and beloved father. We will miss his quiet but ever-present support, his wise counsel, his sly sense of humor and his steady hand at the helm of our lives. Though we will miss him very much, he prepared us well. He is predeceased by parents Fred and Frankie Gilbreath French and brothers Guy French and Donald French.
Surviving are wife Charlotte B. French; son Kenneth W. (Marla) French, Birmingham; daughter Leslie French, Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren Andrew French, Patrick French, Michael French; sisters Bonnie Smith Lynn, Memphis, Sue Galbreath, Oneonta, Joyce Freeman, Pinson; sister-in-law Susan B. Ridley, Birmingham; brother-in-law George (Sherry) Bohorfoush, Birmingham; several nieces and nephews.
The memorial service and scattering of ashes will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Guntersville on April 7, further details pending. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 1101 Sunset Dr., Guntersville, AL 35976 or Alabama Boston Terrier Rescue (abtr.org/ donate) in memory of Mr. French.
