Four people were arrested and charged with capital murder during commission of a robbery last week, following the grisly discovery of a body in a steel container outside a mobile home on Paige Springs Road.
Adam Beard, a 35-year-old Blountsville man, had been reported missing by his mother on Monday, April 2. Acting on a tip the following day, deputies from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Blountsville Police Department went to a mobile home in Blountsville and discovered a badly decomposed body behind the residence in a “blue metal container.” Investigators obtained a search warrant for the mobile home. Inside, authorities discovered evidence that led them to believe the murder had occurred there.
Sara Moore, 36, was taken into custody that day. Moore’s address is on Paige Springs Road, according to court records. The other defendants were brought in for questioning within hours. They were all officially charged on Sept. 5. The other defendants are 19-year-old Haley Ragsdale, 38-year-old Jesus Flores, and 20-year-old Ryan Hunter Farr. Ragsdale and Flores have Blountsville addresses. Farr is from Hayden.
BCSO released a statement crediting a K-9 unit from Jefferson County with finding what is believed to be the murder weapon, an aluminum bat.
All four suspects are being held without bond. Ragsdale was moved to the Cullman County jail Monday afternoon. The transfer was made because the jail has only one female cell block and authorities want to keep the two female defendants separated, according to a statement from the BCSO. They all appeared for an initial appearance in district court
