Pianist J. Barry Vaughn, formerly of Hayden, will be in concert Sunday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center in Gadsden.
Vaughn, rector of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Birmingham, will play music of Mozart, Schumann, Liszt, Chopin, Shostakovich, and Margaret Bonds.
His principal piano teachers have included Oneonta’s the late Dr. Betty Sue concert
Garner Shepherd, Israeli concert pianist Ophra Yerushalmi, author and pedagogue Madeline Bruser of New York City, and Cliburn medalist Yakov Kasman.
Donations made at this event will benefit Christ Church in Albertville, which was severely damaged by a tornado April 24. Donations will help rebuild this beautiful historic structure. 256-878- 3243.
