Blount County’s own Three Generations
will be featured at the Sixth Annual Festival of Sacred Christmas Music at the Von Braun Concert Hall in Huntsville on Thursday, Dec. 16. Two performances are scheduled: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The program is an annual production of Keep Christmas Alive, a Huntsville based nonprofit organization “to reclaim, proclaim, and celebrate Chistmas the oldfashioned way” according to the organization’s mission statement. Outstanding soloists, as well as vocal and instrumental ensembles are featured each year. Proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Three Generations,
consisting of grandmother Linda Thomas of Straight Mountain and the mother/daughter duo of Teresa and Jordan Ratliff of Oneonta, is an a cappella gospel trio of uncommon harmonic artistry. They have been singing as a trio for a number of years, performing a variety of country and gospel styles. They are known for superb renditions of Sacred Harp music. Chris Green, known as founder and leader of the Blount County Gospel Choir among other distinctions, will join the group to “help out” on Christmas Sacred Harp selections.

Other groups scheduled for the program are:

•Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, a quartet known for its great southern gospel sound.

•The Lamb Family violin ensemble, a quartet of a brother and three sisters aged 16 to 23, all classically trained violinists with nationwide performing credits.

•Edie Hand, acclaimed celebrity chef, author, philanthropist and businesswoman.

•Bob Smith, master of ceremonies, vocal soloist, and recording artist.

General admission tickets are $25. Reserved section, $35. Tickets are available from American Cancer Society offices in Huntsville, 2745 Bob Wallace Ave. (256) 536-1863, and Florence, 104 South Poplar St. (256) 767-0825. Further information at www.KeepChristmasAlive.org.
