Don’t forget the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s deadline for Alabama residents to register for federal disaster assistance has been changed to July 18, 2011.
The change follows a 21-day extension granted by FEMA in response to a request by Gov. Robert Bentley. The extension applies to Blount County and the 42 other counties declared for individual assistance.
Disaster survivors in these counties may apply online anytime at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 (800- 462-7585 for those with speech and hearing disabilities).
For SBA applications, renters or homeowners may call SBA at 800-659-2955 or download the application from sba.gov.
