Feeding deer is serious business

Feeding his favorite “baby deer,” that he calls Aubie (or sometimes Aubie Tiger), is a job Joshua takes seriously... even to wearing his favorite Auburn T-shirt to match his baby deer’s name. A busy, bright, lovable 2-year-old, Joshua talks continually about Aubie and hugs and kisses her at every opportunity. His mom and dad, Jenna and Brian Wood, point out that the little deer is not one of their herd but belongs to a friend whose barn was blown away in the April 27 storms. It’ll be tough when she’s weaned and Joshua learns he can’t feed her anymore. Good thing he has many loving people around to console him. – Jane Hill
