Father of the trio

The musical Green Brothers (from left) Mark (lead and piano), Chris (tenor and baritone), and Benny (bass), team up on an a capella performance of a childhood favorite Is That the Lights of Home? at the annual Blount County Gospel Choir concert Sunday. Gazing on in rapt approval two rows back in the choir is the patriarch himself, Frank Green, former Blount County Probate Judge and father of the entire trio. Also visible just over Benny’s shoulder in the first row is Chris’s wife Pam who does more of the work than she gets credit for in staging the annual event. The 50-odd voice choir, with members representing more than 20 churches, gave its seventh annual performance at the event hosted since its outset by Lester Memorial United Methodist Church. People keep coming. – Ron Gholson
