Falcons fly past Eagles

Visiting Donoho rolled up more than 400 yards of offense and cruised to a 38-7 victory at Appalachian last Friday night.

The Falcons took advantage of a pair of Eagle turnovers in the first half to build a 24-0 lead after two quarters.

Donoho running back Mitchell Baker finished the night with 201 yards and two touchdown on just 10 carries and caught five passes for 74 yards.

Appalachian, which was battling illness with five starters sidelined, had a solid night on offense, finishing with 240 total yards, but repeatedly bogged down against the Donoho defense.

Freshman quarterback Noah Moss threw for 123 yards, including a touchdown pass to Peyton Dean. Trey Calvert led the Eagles with 116 rushing yards while Dean caught four passes for 88 yards and a score.

Junior Maldonado led the Eagle defense with eight tackles.
