Eagles fall to Patriots

The Appalachian Eagles hit the road for a match up with the West End Patriots last Friday. The Eagles’ offense struggled to get much going, falling to the Patriots 41-16.

Chase Payne hit Taylor Barger for the Eagles’ first score. Bryson Seawright ran the ball for their second. They successfully converted both two-point conversions.

Payne completed 6-of-24 for 81 yards. Garrett Helms caught two for 40 yards before exiting the game with a leg injury. Barger had two receptions for 32 yards. Seawright had 9 receiving yards to go along with his 136 yards rushing. Payne added another 70 on the ground.

Logan Baswell and Braden Tuttle led the defense with nine tackles apiece. Brian Downs recorded eight.

The Eagles travel again this week to face the Valley Head Tigers (5-1) in a Class 1A Region 7 matchup.
