Commander Frank Cannon of Chapter 28 of the Disabled American Veterans in Oneonta announced the recent donations of $500 to each of the four Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs nursing homes. Pictured is the presentation of the donations at the Col. Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home in Pell City. From left: Daniel Turner (Ch. 28 sergeant at arms), Chad Richmond (Ch. 28 adjutant), Cannon, Kim Justice (executive director of the Alabama State Veterans Homes), and Hillary Hardwick, (director of the Pell City facility.) Cannon said Ch. 28 will also be making monthly visits to the Pell City facility to visit with residents. Donations to help can be made to DAV Chapter 28, P.O. Box 136, Oneonta, AL 35121. To specify how the donation is used, Cannon said to make a notation on the check.
