CURTIS CHAMPION, 77, Hayden, died Oct. 4, 2020, at the residence. Born March 12, 1943, he was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church and had retired after working many years as head custodian and bus driver at Pinson Valley High School. Predeceasing him were parents Charles Sr. and Virginia Champion, sister Angeline Starr, granddaughter Alexsis Payne, and father-in-law Olen McCoy.
Surviving are wife Vickie Champion; children Curtis Jr. (Debra) Champion, Katie (Randy) Hopper, Jennifer (Anthony) Payne, Brian (Lauren) Quinn; six siblings; mother-in-law Helen (Charles) Newsome; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Terry Lynn and John Fallin officiated the 1 p.m. service held Oct. 8 at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed at Copeland Cemetery. Blountsville Funeral Home directed.
