In October 1999, the Oneonta High School Redskin Band and band boosters sponsored the first Covered Bridge Marching Fest-ival. With the exception of 2006 (when our stadium was damaged by a tornado two weeks before the festival), we have continued to host high school bands from throughout the state as well as Tennessee, Mississippi, and Georgia. This annual event brings thousands of people to our city and to Blount County – not only for the festival, but many return throughout the year to visit the area. An undertaking of this magnitude takes the work of approximately 200 parents and over 100 students each year, as well as the assistance of many from throughout the community.
On behalf of the OHS Redskin Band, and the Oneonta Band Boosters, I would like to express appreciation to the following sponsors that helped make this year’s festival a success:
The City of Oneonta, Oneonta High School, Hometown Bank, Blount County Tractor, Snead Ag, The Flower Shop, Heritage Golf at Twin Oaks, Alabama Coca-cola, Wood Fruitticher Grocery Company, Hometown Market, Trinity Management Company, Gadsden Music Company, Creative Frame and Trophy, and Blount EMT.
Your support is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. We look forward to another great festival in 2013.
